Talking With Dad

Of my memories, many are sad, most are just ordinary. There was a lot of arguing in our home. Was. Since Jesus came into our lives, the arguments have lessened. Not disappeared, there is the odd disagreement every once and when.

Things change so slowly sometimes that we don't notice them; like when you boil a frog. Other times there is an elephant sitting in the middle of the room, it stays there for so long that after a while we fail to notice it as the obstacle that it is. Like people that live near the airport. After a while they don't mind the sound of jet engines. The problem should be dealt with as soon as it appears. Some have said that "to postpone is to cancel". The "I'll get around to it" attitude
is the cause of most accidental laziness.

If you hear his voice today "harden not your hearts" Hebrews 3:8 . The operative word there is today. Not "later", or "when I have time." The best time to listen to The Lord is when He's talking to you. The best time to do His will is when you know His will. "By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." John 13:35

The last ten years of my life have been a learning experience. We've lived in several places across the US. People are very different actors depending on where you land. The Midwest is endless green fields in the warm months, and endless white or dirt in the cold.

My brothers and I grew up in Los Angeles, what is most missed is the beach. Not the traffic, not the big tall buildings. We now live in Texas. My dad's getting worse physically, and stronger spiritually. His faith is a witness that our whole family rejoices in.
